Pay the Rent, I Can't Pay the Rent!

Meldred "Leroy" Bleakley

Aug 12, 1952-July 19, 2008
"The Rent is Paid" Rest in Peace
Love ya cousin "ee-ee"
Leroy was a favorite cousin, friend, sometimes protector (chased a few guys off in my teen years)
And a GREAT Joke/storyteller!
When I was kid he taught me "Pay the Rent "at the dinner table using a napkin which when folded became a
bow tie/hair bow/mustache!
Pay the rent (mustache)
I can't pay the rent (hair bow)
Pay the rent (mustache)
I can't pay the rent (hair bow)
(now in a hero's voice) I'll pay the Rent! (bow tie)
Curses !(mustache)
My hero! (hair bow and don't forget to flash the eyelashes)
There was a little risque version he also told I learned in later years, but we won't share that here just chuckle if you remember it!

Goodyear Tire Ad and Final Episode of Road Trip!

This picture was taken in the eastern Utah desert on I-70. As you can see a nice big strip of tire peeled off of the tire and hit the car! If you see a tow truck driver from Moab wandering around looking for someone, its us! So much for "GM Roadside Assistance". Onstar was great, but for this they connect you to GM Road Assist. I'm not sure they have a map in front of them. Onstar told them where we were, closest on ramp, mile 204. GM sent a tow truck from Moab, arrival time suppose to be 1.5 hrs. We were about 50 miles west of Grand Junction Colorado. We never saw a tow truck anywhere! Oh and by the way don't worry about a speeding ticket in that area either, there are no troopers out there either. After 2.15 hrs and several phone calls to above mentioned tow company and them asking several times "where are you" and temps climbing well over 100! We limped back to Grand Junction for repairs at about 20 mph. Howard's hand was hurting, partly because he had hand surgery that he hasn't fully recovered from and partly because someone (won't mention who) rolled the window up on his hand a few days before. Anyway, car not yet 3 years old, 31k miles, but totally out of alignment! Our local GM service center didn't mention to me when they rotated my tires at 29k miles that they were wearing and I should consider an alignment. Moral....pay attention to your tires (especially when your husband has been recouping from surgery). Tell GM you are actually closer to Grand Junction, don't assume they have a map. And carry drinking water which we did do! And maybe you will be lucky to have a nice girl with her baby (doesn't she know how dangerous it could be) stop and offer water and a granola bar to you!

After Wedding Road Trip Part 2

All of these pictures were taken inside of Rocky Mountain National Park, one of the best kept secrets. Its a small park and doesn't have the crowds you have a Yellowstone and Yosemite. This is looking towards "Hidden Valley"
The only wildlife we saw this visit.
"Fall River" this river runs through the park and also through the town of Estes Park

More "Fall River"

"On Top of the Rocky Mountains" elevation was about 11,715

You can actually walk on a path across the tundra. Spring has just arrived at that elevation.

Tundra with mountains in the background. Did you notice we are above tree line?
